Slippery Elm is a species of elm native to eastern North America and has been used as a natural remedy for centuries. It is very safe and non-toxic. The bark inside is dried, ground and used medicinally to treat digestive disorders of all kinds. It eliminates toxins from the body when eliminated itself and acts as a lubricant inside the colon, which makes it effective for the treatment of inflammation or ulceration of the gastrointestinal tract.
Slippery Elm contains vitamin A, C, K and B-complex and contains high levels of calcium and magnesium. It is rich in mucilage - a substance that becomes a smooth gel when mixed with water, and which coats and soothes the mouth, throat, stomach and intestine. It is reminiscent of an internal bandage that relieves, creating a protective wall along the gastrointestinal tract, allowing a healthy and more comfortable digestion process. May help relieve diarrhea and constipation and also contains antioxidants that help relieve ulcers, gastritis, colitis and other inflammatory bowel conditions. In addition, it is used to soothe the bladder wall in cases of inflammation (cystitis). Recommended dosage:
Quantity per unit: 125 mg per 1/4 scoop (with scoop included)
For dogs and cats: 1/4 scoop per 10 lbs (4.54 kg) of body weight
